Last year I replaced my old PUR horizontal filter. This one had worked faithfully for many years. It had finally cracked and was leaking so I purchased a new one, which had since been redesigned. In the past year I have had to replace it 3 times as it will not stay attached to the faucet. It randomly falls off into the sink, and eventually I have to hold it tight to the faucet to use the filter. Now when I try to get water it just sprays me and my kitchen and no water comes out of the filter. The worst thing about it is that the old design was great, and the water is fantastic. I am giving up on it as I have run out of patience.

We have had a Pur filter for years and this year Mom asked for one. Easy installation and the water is so much better. easier than buying bottled water or filling a filter pitcher every day. We are very pleased with our purchase and so is Mom.

I have purchased in the last year two of the units that attach to your faucet. The first one developed cracks and thought this was a fluke but this also happened to the next one. Has P&G decided to make garbage because these units never developed cracks years ago. Maybe P&G needs to recall all of these garbage items. Still have filters but is it worth the effort to buy the unit to hold them if thay are going to crack in 6 months. All PUR units are not worth the money. If you buy be prepared to buy again in 6 months. Should last longer than that.....
I have to state that I contacted P&G about the units cracking and they said they will send me a replacement unit. I must say that is good customer service. So I changed 1 star to 3 star. Hope this new one doesn't develop cracks in the unit. I would recommend that you contact P&G and see what they can do for you. I did and the customer service was excellent. Sometimes we forget that companies like P&G want a good reputation. Maybe the unit was bad but P&G was willing to fix the problem which shows that they care for their customers....

The filter's first stage traps sediment, like dirt, rust, and sand, while the second stage greatly reduces contaminants, pollutants, trace pharmaceuticals, and illness-inducing microbes. In the final stage, water is filtered over natural minerals to give it a more refreshing taste. The result is water that looks, tastes, and smells cleaner.
Each PUR filter provides up to 100 gallons of clean water, and will typically last for two to three months.
Activated Carbon Microfilter Removes Contaminants
The second stage of filtration employs an activated carbon microfilter that removes most of the harmful contaminants commonly found in both municipal water sources and well water.
This filter removes 98 percent of chlorination by-products while also reducing the taste and odor caused by chlorine. The filter also removes 99 percent of heavy metals, like lead; industrial pollutants, like asbestos; trace pharmaceuticals, like antibiotics and antidepressants; and microbial cysts, like giardia and cryptosporidium.
User-Friendly Features and One-Click Installation
The filter's one-click installation requires no tools; it snaps onto your existing faucet (filter is not compatible with pull-out faucets). Removing it is just as easy--simply push a button. The filter swivels 360 degrees to give you better access to your entire sink.
A simple switch activates the filter and turns it off. For added convenience, this filter features a built-in electronic filter life indicator. The indicator flashes green, yellow, or red with use, so you'll know when it's time to update your filter.
